Pinball TV Game
I acquired this recently as part of a bulk lot, it's a plug and play pinball game that connects straight to your TV and runs from batteries. I'm classing this as a hand held console as you hold the whole unit in your hands It came in its box With the instructions It's a funny looking unit, with a very long cable terminating in the usual three RCA plugs, it did come with an adaptor for SCART Control wise it has the two trigger buttons for the flippers, these are just momentary switches, there's a select and start button, and a power switch, finally there's an analogue stick that pulls out to fire the ball, it really is analogue too, the plunger moves in time with the stick. There is no reset button, so you have to turn the unit off and on again to choose another game This is all for decoration, it doesn't move or light up in any way When switched on you get a short boot screen and sound effect Then the main menu slides into view, the background is animated and very low quality PCM sampled music plays This is Go-Kart This is Challenge, you get Bomber, Attack, and Thunder as part of this selection And here are Fun-Land, Soccer, and Hockey. Soccer and Hockey are pretty much the same game, the triggers on the back move the goal keeper left and right, and spins the flipper in the other half of the playing field, they are very difficult to play. If the ball gets stuck, which it will, you can shake the unit and the screen shakes in response and the ball jumps out of it's location, although I never felt any vibration which it claims to have on the box I would guess this is just a NOAC with a custom ROM, the graphics and sound certainly do look like what you would get from the NES. The sound is nothing more than a short low quality sampled loop with the occasional sound effect. It definitely isn't Pinball Fantasies on the Amiga, but it plays well enough to keep you occupied for half an hour For more retro hardware check out my online museum here?FILE NOT OPEN ERRORREADY.
