Dell Latitude D630
I have a Dell Latitude D630 to go alongside my Dell Latitude C540, unfortunately it didn't come with a PSU, and the PSU from the C540 has a different plug, however I'm told one from an HP laptop will work, I think I have one of those somewhere but I don't know exactly where, so I can't power on this one yet
But that won't stop me having a look round it first. The laptop was originally shipped with Windows XP, but seems to be upgraded with Windows 7 Premium. It looks like it got a bit hot in use and the model label has melted
Not getting much information from that
What is STRIKE ZONE all about?
There's a SIM card slot underneath the battery
On the right is the DVD/CD writer and two USB2 ports
On the back is Ethernet, Modem, two USB2 ports, nine pin serial, VGA, and power
Kensington lock, mic, headphones, firewire, power switch, and a PCMCIA slot, there is a smart card slot under the audio connectors, but it seems I can't take photos very well
The keyboard and touch-pad, two sets of mouse buttons as well because there is one of those mouse stalks, I don't like those
According to online sources, it has an Intel Centrino T7300 Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.0GHz with 512MB of RAM. When I find the HP PSU, I will test it and try to boot it
Update
I picked up a PSU for a whole £1 at a car boot sale
I will try it very soon...
More hardware updates
I found a floppy drive module being given away on FB Marketplace for free that should fit this laptop
Update
Finally got around to trying out the power supply
Plug the power adaptor in and it doesn't explode, so all good so far
Press the power button and things light up
Windows is starting
BAH!
BAD_POOL_HEADER
Next boot gives this screen
Try to repair the Windows installation...
Hummmmm
