Grandstand 3000
I saw this on Ebay for less than £10 and had to have it, it was listed as "untested" but meh I already have the Grandstand 4600 but there's always room for another Grandstand here The top of the console has recesses for the controllers, which are fixed to the unit, then you have switches for power, speed, auto/manual serve, game selector, bat angle and size, and a speaker grill in the centre The base of the console has the battery compartment, the bottom of the controllers are metal The rear of the console has the attached aerial lead and external power connection, it takes the usual 9V but has a different plug The controllers have a potentiometer type control, and a serve button, on one of the controllers the button is stuck down Close up of the switches Close up of the controllers There was batteries installed when it was delivered However they were all dead on arrival, I don't have a suitable AC adaptor, so I had to spend actual money on new batteries. But I can report the unit works ok, the score seemed to stick at 6 15, I couldn't find any reset button on the unit to reset the scores, and turning the unit off didn't reset it Football Tennis Squash Practice That's another Pong machine to add to the collection For more retro hardware check out my online museum here
