Binatone Colour TV Game Mk 10
During a recent Pong console obsession I picked up one of these, it's a similar form factor to the Mk8 I already have, but this one has switches instead of a large dial, and it has colour graphics.
There was a Mk10 in the black and white range, but it looks completely different to this
This one comes with its box, no polys though, and a "Binatone Battery Eliminator" which is what they used to call a PSU
I will be testing it soon, most likely with the Ferguson 3840 portable black and white TV
It has been tested now
The box looks great, they dropped the orange for the colour versions, although it's still "Licenced by Magnavox"
Side and top
The unit itself, similar to the Mk8, but with piano keys, two extra games, detachable controllers, and you need to plug them in before you can play, so you can't leave them in the console and play like you can with the Mk8
The control panel
The base of the unit, with battery compartment, it says C on the label, but it actually takes D cells, I don't have any D cells
The unit with the controllers attached, they are normal five pin DIN connectors
This is the PSU that came with it, it says 8v, I was using a 9v Atari 2600 PSU before for the other Binatone's, perhaps that's why they didn't work?
Anyway I can't remember if this one worked and I didn't take any photos of it set up either, so I'll need to set it up again
Update: I set it all up again
And it works, I thought it did, but didn't document it, and with my brain being what it is, it all got muddled up with the other Pong machines
I even tried it with a modern TV to test the colour, and that looks ok too, even though tuning a stable picture was a bleeding nightmare
Enjoy the videos, fancy a go?
