Apple Cinema Display
Spotted this on FB Marketplace being given away for free, but it was just dumped outside the house, so I had to move quick to go get it. It looked like it'll be a perfect match for my Apple Power Mac G4, but there's a problem with that thought
This monitor is complete with original box
Which is in good condition, huge, and heavy
Close up of the labels on the box
Original poly's are present, no instructions though
The monitor itself, it's heavy, and feels very well made
The monitor has two USB ports, and two Firewire ports
The only controls are power, and brightness up and down, these are touch controls
The apple logo, which does not illuminate
The base, the plastic part does come off
There is only one cable coming out of the monitor, which splits into four connectors
DVI-D with adaptor, USB, Firewire, and power
This is the power supply for the monitor, the power connector from the monitor plugs in here along with the mains cable
The Apple branded mains cable
Plugged into the power supply
Fired up the G4 Power Mac, and the boot screen appears, but goes to a blank screen after this, then the monitor goes into standby shortly after, I tried the Mac with a VGA monitor which worked fine. Turns out the monitor is not compatible with the RAGE128 graphics card in the Apple Mac, which is annoying, it will work with a normal DVI-D monitor, and this monitor will work with a PC with DVI-D out, just not this monitor and graphics card combination
Typical Apple!
